The AJAX armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) and Vitavox’s Outacom Tactical Communications System featured on ITV’s Her Majesty’s Cavalry on the 4 June.

Episode one of the six-part documentary series focussed on the Household Cavalry, one of the oldest (300 years +) and best known regiments in the British Army. Their various regiments are divided into horseback and AFV teams, the latter of which ride in the AJAX tank.

AJAX and it’s six variants (589 units) are all equipped with the Outacom – the only full Def Stan and MIL-SPEC qualified tactical vehicle public address system currently in production.

Created to keep personnel safe, Outacom allows the operator to:

  • Direct, command and control the immediate locale from within the vehicle
  • Protect vehicle personnel from the enemy – no requirement to expose head to communicate
  • Safer control of crowd dispersal and area clearance
  • Reduced probability of unnecessary escalation of violence

See an excerpt of AJAX and Outacom in the clip below.
