Vitavox at CDE "Less Than Lethal Weapons & Effects" seminar
The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is the Ministry of Defence's gateway for UK industry, academia and innovators helping to ensure Armed Forces are best equipped now and in the future.
Vitavox will be attending this CDE seminar on Thursday 26th November 2009 at 12:30-16:30 in Harwell to showcase the less than lethal 'Outacom Communications System'.
The Outacom Communications System can be used as a less than lethal option by confronting suspects approaching on foot, or those who may be using a vehicle, or those operating within a crowded place. The Vitavox less than lethal option will allow the Armed Forces to deal with these challenging situations, minimizing (ideally avoiding) any impact on bystanders or other collateral effects, and reduce the risk of inadvertently using lethal force. The Vitavox solution is suitable for use by Armed Forces on current operations in a variety of situations from foot patrols through to deployment at fixed military installations. They should be able to deter people from approaching when instructed not to, to disrupt enemy ability to monitor friendly force activity, and to stop or physically detain people if needed are among the functions that the Vitavox Outacom Communication System can provide.

Vitavox develops Submarine Dive Chamber Intercom System (DCIS)
Following requests from a number of different Submarine manufacturers for a 'sluice' type of communications system to enable embarking and disembarking divers to contact the on board control room, Vitavox have developed the Submarine DCI system which consists of a pressure proof (69bar) loudspeaker/microphone on the 'wet side' and a waterproof broadcast loudspeaker, microphone and Communications Control Unit on the 'dry side'. Unlike the less than adequate existing systems, Vitavox's DCIS is intended to last the full life of the boat with a minimal maintenance requirement.
