Q1. Can the Outacom system be integrated with any Tactical Intercom?
"Yes, it can either be fully integrated via Outacom's Interface Unit (OIU) or can operate as a stand alone system in it's own right. A vehicle power supply would need to be utilised"
Q2. Are the Vitavox underwater intercom systems (for submarine dive chambers) available as complete systems?
"There is a Vitavox system currently under development for a customer, that will be qualified and standardised using existing Vitavox products. Delivery will be during 2009 and the system will be avaliable to all boat builders and designers"
Q3. Are Vitavox loudspeakers available as part of or stand alone ATEX approved systems or units?
"This is currently being pursued with the ATEX approval authorities. Vitavox's ATEX loudspeaker microphone systems will be mainly utilised on industrial cranes and oil rig types of applications"
Q4. Why would you need a loudspeaker on the outside of your armoured vehicle HMMWV?
"To protect the crew from having to dismount to get an audio message across to a local citizen to ascertain if they may or may not be miscreants"
Q5. Why would you need to talk to them?
"They may not be combatants, they may just be local citizens who are panicking at the sight and sound of the appearance of a military vehicle and need to be contacted in their own language"
Q6. How do you talk to citizens in their own language?
"Vitavox's Outacom System has a recordable digital input/output facility (iPod or MP3) via the OIU that can be used for this function. You can also access the system via the on board microphone or vehicle intercom system and either speak the local language or read from pre-prepared cards with set messages. A simple push button re-recordable language sound bite device is being developed"
Q7. Do Vitavox offer after-sales support to customers?
"Yes, we continue to support both Vitavox manufactured and other supplier in-service mil-spec audio equipment at the Elstree factory. Vitavox Engineering staff will be pleased to visit customer sites to further evaluate current and future requirements"
Q8. Do Vitavox install products and provide training?
"Yes we do. Full installation and training can be provided and tailor made as required at customer premises"
Q9. What other services do Vitavox offer?
"At Vitavox we also offer Post Design Services. This includes adaptation of existing Vitavox components and equipments as bespoke systems. It also includes replacement of existing loudspeaker/microphones that have been proven to be 'not fit for role'. Finally, this also consists of designing bespoke systems as per customer specifications"
